In 1969, Camatic Seating was contracted to supply steel work, aluminum castings and the mechanised tilt systems for the Sydney Opera House.

Camatic Seating renewed its association with the Opera House some 20 years later when it won the contract to restore and refurbish the venue's seating
in 1991.

As the Sydney Opera House could not afford any interruptions to its heavily booked schedule, seats were removed over a period of time. The white birch timber was stripped and repolished, the foam cushions replaced or reupholstered and every detail of the seats were restored to their original condition.

The relationship between Camatic and this Australian icon has continued over the years and a further refurbishment of some 1500 seats took place in 2007.
